Dawn DaLuise is a mother of three and a grandmother but the former model for Fredrick's of Hollywood still looks like she just stepped off a photo shoot.  She's ministered her signature Galvanic Facial to the likes of Christian Slater, considers Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., Alicia Silverstone and Christina Ricci her loyal clients, and has even been punked by Bruno AKA Sacha Baron Cohen. 

At her charming day spa tucked away above the Courtyard Cafe in West Hollywood, DaLuise offers the age-old Hollywood treatment that was popularized by Gloria Swanson in the 1942 classic 'Sunset Boulevard.'  Galvanic Electricity, also known as EMS or Electric Muscle Stimulation, is a contrast to the steam and cream, peel and burn facials of today.  DaLuise believes that hydrating and calming the skin results not only in the sought-after instant results, but also in long term gains.

The Galvanic facial involves multiple steps starting with a gentle cleansing and a heated pad with a negative charge under your back.  Your face is swathed with rich compresses soaked in yucca extract and shielded by a lampshade looking heat dome.  Once the skin has had the chance to absorb the nutrients, the skin is vacuumed with a small suction tube, making extractions virtually pain-free.  DaLuise, who also offers a phenomenal skincare line named the Skin Refinery Collection, then uses her proprietary Honey Almond Refiner to further scrub and exfoliate the skin. 

But all this is just prep for the royal treatment.  It's only now that the skin has been cleansed and exfoliated, that flannel cloth compresses soaked in a formula of magnesium, trace minerals and vitamins are applied in a mummy-like fashion.  A leather mask with a positive charge is placed on your face for twenty minutes and works in conjunction with the heated pad on your back to tone the muscles and provide the lifting effect.  You may have a metallic taste during the session but this is tremendously exciting because it validates the treatment's working.   

DaLuise ministers a hand massage and continues to replenish the compresses with more nutrients so the skin is constantly tended to and pampered.  Finally, after the masks have been removed and the skin has been toned, DaLuise massages the face with her own Collagen Moisture Retainer and lets you face the world feeling and looking like a star.
